If you are a Hancock policyholder who is eligible to vote in the Demutualization (i.e., you received the thick, two-part Policyholder Information Statement in the mail and a card to vote) you have the power to assign your vote to another person who can then attend Hancocks November 30, 1999 "Special Meeting" on your behalf. (This is true even if you have already voted on the Plan.) Jason Adkins who is representing several policyholders in the Massachusetts regulatory Public Hearings against Hancocks Plan is also planning to attend the Special Meeting on behalf of policyholders to argue and vote against the Plan.
He will be voting against the Plan due to the many unfair provisions to the millions of Hancock individual life insurance policyholders. These policyholders may be receiving tens if not hundreds of millions of dollars less then they should receive.
If you would like to add your important voice to that of the other policyholders who oppose this Plan, please print and fill out the attached Hancock Legal Proxy form, and assign your vote to Jason Adkins. Then sign the proxy and mail it to the address on the bottom of the proxy. (This is the legal requirement.) (Also, please send (or fax) a completed copy of the Legal Proxy (or e-mail a note to us that you sent one in) so that we can track the proxies and confirm with Hancock that you have done so. And dont forget to let us know how to contact you if we must). We can be reached at the address, phone, fax and e-mail address below.
